We have seen a hoopoo a few times over the past few weeks. It seems to like open spaces and searches for food on the ground. It’s very shy and difficult to photograph, but Polpandi managed to capture it.

An AMAZING place away from traffic, pollution and noise.. the location is serene and calm, we woke up to the songs of... birds everyday of our stay.. that itself was an incredible way to start the day..The rooms were beautiful and has all the modern equipments one needs, wifi has decent connectivity and the food was delicious..But the best part was the service, people and Chris himself.. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.. and quite knowledgeable about the history, location and birdlife of the area..All in all.. it was one of our most memorable vacations.read more

Wow..wow...wow.... what a wonderful place! Absolute hide out, resting and self-rewarding place. After stressful work,... want to treat yourself, this is the place. Calm and quiet. Nature and serenity surrounding area.Every thing you need to treat yourself is here. Nice people around you. What can I say about the food? If any food can make you happy after your mother's food, it this food. Absolutely original home cooking, with no adulterated stuff. Made to your requirement, as per your suggestions. Plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables. I did not taste any non-vegetarian preparation. But, I am sure they can make fabulous non-vegetarian dishes too. Chinese, Thai, Italian and English foods are also available.You want to write a book, you can lock yourself here. Internet connectivity is very good. Marvelous swimming pool. Crystal clear water. Good for children and adults. I loved the pool.Dr. Chris, the founder of this place also stays here. He makes sure that every moment of your time is pleasantly spent. Mr. Murugesan, the Manager makes sure everything is in place before you check in. Hastle free check in. He is always there to make your stay as comfortable as possible.Mr. Periyasamy, Mr. Pandi and Mr. Palpandi pamper you providing all you ask for. Great place to spend time. The houses are thoughtfully designed and food is nice. One can enjoy the view from the... balcony for hours. The folks working there, are professional and helpful if anything needed. If you are traveling with pet, they are very pet friendly and the pet will enjoy the surroundings. Time spent talking with Chris is added bonus and fun.read more

We had a wonderful time @ Cardamom House during our stay on 12th and 13th Feb 2022.The homestay is built amidst a... highland surrounded by lush paddy fields with breath-taking views. The aesthetically pleasing design of the house and the diverse collection of flora were complimenting each other. The foyer leading into a large dining-cum-entertainment room had a spectacular view overlooking the Kamaraj water reserve at the far end. The rooms were large, comfortable and adequately furnished with all the basic needs for a pleasant stay. The fabrics in the room and the surroundings were super clean that we hardly faced any bed bugs or mosquito bites. The swimming pool was crystal clear and very well maintained. The food (Veg & Non-Veg) was great and the staff were well-mannered, polite and courteous. We would like to extend our warm greetings and thanks to Dr Chris and the entire staff for a memorable stay.Note: The route to the house from Madurai via Athoor leaving NH37 is under 10 km but has a hilly terrain with potholes and bumpy roads. Please drive carefully in the dark.read more

Undoubtedly, our best homestay experience so far! This place has all you can ask for in terms of a serene ambiance,... great food, cleanliness, thoughtful amenities (attention to the utmost detail), courteous staff, and the wonderful Chris! This is the perfect getaway to forget the hustle and bustle of urban city life. This place will put your life on 0.5 - .25x (slow it down) and give you space to think and have meaningful conversations with your loved ones. We were looking for a quiet place to spend a night, close to Dindigul.We chanced upon Cardamom House in our internet... search and are glad we did !Our stay at cardamom House was awesome - away from the city hustle and bustle in the midst of nature in the foothills of the Palani Hills, overlooking the Kamaraj reservoir.The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and take care of our food needs. It felt great not to have a TV in the room and just chill out in the verandah with the family.Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet home away from home experience.Thanks to Chris, Murugesan, Pandi and team for making our stay memorable.Wishing Chris good heath and many years of active life at Cardamom House !read more

Cardamom House is a magical place. You have to be there to believe it! My parents and I happened to visit in January... 2021. We had the most refreshing experience. Great room, awesome food and super staff. The attention to detail is commendable. Three cheers to the whole team! Worth every penny and more. Will surely go back.read more

We stayed for a night en route to Kerala and were taken care of by Murugeshan and Samy extremely well. Their service is... extraordinarily commendable! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and they brought out a cake and rose garland for him! The meals are freshly made and they will check with you to understand your likes and needs. The food was awesome! The weather is beautiful and pleasant. We took nature walks and enjoyed every minute of our time spend there. Definitely recommend everyone to stay here!read more
